Control of Measuring Instruments and Inspection Certificates for HAVER-Test Sieves

The standard DIN EN ISO 9000 ff. requires measuring instruments to be inspected at regular intervals. This also includes test sieves that are used as measuring instruments.
HAVER & BOECKER offers the opportunity to examine test sieves by a computerized video-analysis-system at our works laboratory or on-site. During the inspection aperture sizes are measured and recorded in warp and weft direction. Statistical analysis is used to verify the quality of the test sieve.
Following inspection, test sieves receive a seal. For each inspected test sieve the client obtains as quality assurance document an inspection certificate 3.1 according to DIN EN 10 204 showing the distribution of aperture widths in graphic (for test sieve cloth only) and tabular form.
Test sieves are inspected by specially skilled persons at HAVER & BOECKER using our calibrated computerized video-analysis-system.

The institution "Materialprüfungsanstalt für das Bauwesen, Institut für Baustoffe, Massivbau und Brandschutz (MPA IBMP TU Braunschweig)" confirms by certificate No. Z-6045/881/07 dated 2007-08-22 that the measuring device HAVER BSA corresponds to ISO 3310-1:2000 (5.2, Test Methods Test 3) and ASTM E 11-01 (Test Methods for Checking Wire Cloth and Testing Sieves to determine whether they conform to specification). The calibration method by HAVER BSA guarantees the traceability to the national measuring standard.

Certificate of Compliance with the Order 2.1

The metal cloth for test sieves and the test sieve itself are fabricated to current standards. The fabrication is subject to our quality assurance system certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001-2000.

If no specific request has been made, each HAVER-Test Sieve is delivered with a Certificate of Compliance with the Order 2.1 according to DIN EN 10 204.

Inspection Certificate 3.1

HAVER-Test Sieves may be delivered with an Inspection Certificate 3.1 according to DIN EN 10 204 with measuring results of a specific test. This test is provided as an option: either certification or calibration.

Both methods perform a measurement in warp and weft direction. They differ in the quantity of the measured aperture widths, resulting in different confidence levels. During a calibration thrice as much aperture widths are measured than during a certification. In general the test sieve is subject to a specific inspection. The aperture widths are stated for warp and weft direction. The results are recorded for further control measurements.

Certificate of the MPA IBMB TU Braunschweig for the Measuring Instrument HAVER BSA

Quality Control of Woven Wire Cloth and Test Sieves.

The international leading analysis standards ISO 3310-1 and ASTM E 11-01 rule the quality features of screens and make high demands on the measuring device employed.

The HAVER video-analysis-system fulfills the demands proved by the certificate of the MPA IBMB TU Braunschweig, bestowed for the first time in this branch.

"The "Materialprüfungsanstalt für das Bauwesen, Institut für Baustoffe, Massivbau und Brandschutz (MPA IBMB TU Braunschweig)", certify with the Certificate No. Z-6045/881/07, that the measuring instrument HAVER BSA, Ident-No. 25, of the manufacturer Haver & Boecker, Wire Weaving Division, 59302 Oelde, Germany, meets the requirements of ISO 3310-1: 2000, (chap. 5.2, test method 3) and ASTM E 11-01 (test methods according to annex A 1.4 and A 1.5) for test sieves with frame diameters up to 300 mm (measurement capability index Cm ≥ 3,5)."
